Hedgerow Jam

Its time to go a-foraging as our live workshop is all about hedgerow fruits at Rosie's Preserving School UK
If we are having some nice Autumn weather get out and about to see what you can forage from the hedgerows. Try to stay away from sites adjacent to traffic - get out into the peace of the countryside or your local park. Once you 'get your eye in' you will be surprised what you manage to find. Fruits like crabapples, blackberries, elderberries, sloes, wild plums, hawthorn. It may be useful to take a flat tray or basket with you lined with smaller dishes or the tops of egg boxes so that you can keep the hedgerow bounty separate until you can get it prepped. If you don't intend to use it straightaway wash in cold water with a splash of vinegar added, drain well then freeze spread on baking paper lined trays to keep the fruit free flow. Store in a labelled container once frozen.

Our Workshops are friendly, no experience of cooking or preserving is necessary and we try to use everyday, familiar equipment. You can cook along with the Live Workshop or use the recording which will be place in The Library of the School soon after the Workshop finishes

So, take advantage of the block booking discounts to access all of the Season's Workshops with the security of knowing you won't miss anything.

We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our preserving family

I've thoroughly enjoyed your workshops over the last year and have learnt so much about preserving - there's a whole world out there, not just jams! Your warm and friendly approach is greatly appreciated, and you answer all our questions with endless patience. Thanks for giving me the confidence to experiment - as you say, what could go wrong?!
