Artisan Breadmaking

Learn about Yeast and Artisan breadmaking at Rosie's Preserving School UK
Artisan breadmaking is, really, one step back from sourdough. Somewhat overlooked today but possibly the very first method of our ancestors creating something that wasn't a heavy raw dough like flatbread cooked on a hot flat stone. This dough rose and baked light and crusty - how exciting must that have been!

We are going to follow the path of ancient bread making, capturing some of the wild yeasts that surround us all of the time and encouraging the alchemy of those wild yeasts mixed with flour and water

Time is of the essence in this process - not in the usual hurried sense but more in a rhythym sense. Relax into it and learn a slower, more measured pace of life. Goodness knows, I am the living embodiment that this slower pace can exist alongside the fast lane of the motorway of life - they are not mutually exclusive

Our Workshops are friendly, no experience of cooking or preserving is necessary and we try to use everyday, familiar equipment. You can cook along with the Live Workshop or use the recording which will be place in The Library of the School soon after the Workshop finishes

So, take advantage of the block booking discounts to access all of the Season's Workshops with the security of knowing you won't miss anything.

We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our preserving family

I've thoroughly enjoyed your workshops over the last year and have learnt so much about preserving - there's a whole world out there, not just jams! Your warm and friendly approach is greatly appreciated, and you answer all our questions with endless patience. Thanks for giving me the confidence to experiment - as you say, what could go wrong?!
