I've put over 100 jars through Rosie's TPS22 Pressure Canner in the past month, and it's been faultless. It's simple to use, holds pressure well, and feels solid and well made. I use it on both an induction hob and a woodfired Rayburn, and it performs brilliantly on both. If you're unsure because it's not a big American brand, don't be. It's a quality canner that works brilliantly. Customer service is second to none and I'm grateful to Rosie for going out of her way to make sure I got a great service. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. (NB I wasn't paid for this review, it's an honest to goodness great product that I've ragged the past month without issues!)

It is a legal requirement that all producers - irrespective of the size of the business - declare the sugar content of jams on the label. This is measured by the use of a refractometer.

The instrument that we have sourced is made to a high specification and is supplied with full instructions for its use, and a carry case to keep it in. Also included, a pipette, cleaning cloth and screwdriver.

The range of this model is calibrated to cover the Brix range 0-80% of soluble solids of sucrose, measured at 20 deg C. The measurement is only approximate for samples other than sucrose.
