If you are a serious homesteader or preserver you going to have cupboards with lots of essential ingredients so that you can make the most of being self sufficient. Those jars and packets are going to need labelling or one day you may end up trying to make lemon curd with salt instead of caster sugar - don't ask me how this could possible happen. All I can say is the curd didn't thicken.
