Business Training Part 1

Online Workshop S1: Business Training Part 1
This two part workshop is designed for those of you who maybe have a 'big hobby' of preserve making but would like to take it to the next level.

You have maybe been supplying to friends and family, perhaps done the odd market and often been asked if you sell anywhere.

It is a very different picture to sell to the General Public. There are Laws about what is a jam, marmalade or curd
to abide by - the structure of the product itself - and then regulations that are a requirement regarding records, labelling, and hygiene.

You will be expected to know all of this if you are inspected by either Environmental Health and/or Trading Standards. It is not sufficient to say you didn't know or weren't aware.

Starting out on your own is difficult if only because you don't know what you need to adhere to or where to look for it! We can help with that and steer you in the right direction from the start. If you have already started your business you may have already discovered some of the pitfalls and will have many questions.

This workshop is supported with a workbook 'Guidance for Artisan Jam & Preserve Makers' which we produce and issue and is included in the price. We will also issue you with a Certificate when you have completed the full course which you can display in your premises or market stall.

Booking closes three days before the start of the Part 1 to enable us to send you the workbook. Please also have a pen handy for making notes. The workbook covers Part 1 and Part 2.

Each workshop will run for approximately 90 mins - 2 hrs.

Duration: 95 minutes

I've thoroughly enjoyed your workshops over the last year and have learnt so much about preserving - there's a whole world out there, not just jams! Your warm and friendly approach is greatly appreciated, and you answer all our questions with endless patience. Thanks for giving me the confidence to experiment - as you say, what could go wrong?!
